With over 30 years of study and practice, Santosha yoga classes provide a holistic, integrated approach to yoga, which means our classes includes all aspects of the yogic teachings and may. Each yoga classes may include any combination of asana (postures), pranayama (breath-work), kriya (energy integration/expansion techniques), mantra (chanting) and meditation.
A therapeutic level of heat may be added to some classes to allow for greater ease in stretching the tissue.
Kriya & Kundalini
This practice is designed to create awareness of our energy bodies and the flow of kundalini energy. You will develop the ablility to work with energy through kriya, breath-work, movement, and mantra.
Increasing the body's ability to contain energy boosts the immune system. It also activates dormant and underused parts of the brain, and releases buildup of old/trapped energy from the energy centers creating balance. Kundalini techniques are as brought forth from the tradition of the northern Himalayas in India.

It's called a "journey" becaue this experience will take you to places where the possibility of transformation can happen!

26&2 Heated Asana Practice
An adaptation of the original hot series. This class is therapeutically heated, and is good for all levels. The focus is on strengthening, stretching and healing the physical body through asana (postures) and pranayama (breath). This class is designed to help develop internal fire and mental discipline through concentrated attention.and can help create a strong connection to the body/mind. Students move with structured instruction.
This class experience is a play of movement and stillness. This class will instill a sense of ease -even when there is effort. Ideas of "easy or difficult" begin to dissolve as we move through postures, allow for the breath to flow, and find dynamic stillness. Yin postures are held for 3-5 minutes to allow access to deeper layers of connective tissue.
This class also incorporates different breathing techniques to allow for greater possibility of depth and awareness.
All levels are welcome. Good for beginners who want to slow down a "monkey mind" and restless body.
As the body and mind age we often lose support in the intrinsic muscles that support the spine and pelvis. The muscles are important not only for our spine and CNS but allow us to balance and move gracefully as we age.
During this class we move through postures and techniques to strenghten the core musculature and increase our ability to balance.
Good for all levels. Especially for those who "have no balance"!
Group Meditation and Sangha:
This is a conscious gathering for silent meditation. It is open to all levels all techniques provided they are not disruptive to the group. We will all start together as a group and will have 30 mins. to meditate depending on your preference, followed by Sangha (conscious sharing).

Integrated Hatha Yoga
Integrated Hatha Yoga Level I-II. This a holistic yoga class that focuses on the physical yoga postures, alignment and breath. This class may also integrate any combination of yoga techniques such as mantra, meditation and kriya to assist in healing the entire being.
All level are welcome, especially beginners.
Integrated Flow Level I-II. This a holistic yoga class that integrates the different yoga techniques to help heal the entire being. Postures are strung together and linked with breath to create a meditative flow.
All level are welcome, especially beginners.
This class allows us to access the subconscious mind and reprogram old patterns of behavior. It is a deeply relaxing experience and empowers the individual to change on levels of being. As the body "sleeps" and the mind processes new information a deep healing is occurring. The body moves out of fight or flight and can begin to move it's attention to areas that need healing. Much like guided meditation this is an immensely calming and rejuvenating experience.
