With over 30 years of study and practice, Santosha yoga classes provide a holistic, integrated approach to yoga, which means our classes includes all aspects of the yogic teachings and may. Each yoga classes may include any combination of asana (postures), pranayama (breath-work), kriya (energy integration/expansion techniques), mantra (chanting) and meditation.

A therapeutic level of heat may be added to some classes to allow for greater ease in stretching the tissue.

Himalayan Kundalini

This practice is designed to create awareness of our energy bodies and the flow of kundalini energy. You will develop the ablility to work with energy through kriya, breath-work, movement, and mantra.

Increasing the body's ability to contain energy boosts the immune system. It also activates dormant and underused parts of the brain, and releases buildup of old/trapped energy from the energy centers creating balance. This is an ancient yogic modality for holistic healing. If you are looking for a deeper yogic experience and to do something that will create health and change in your body/mind, come join us!

Kundalini techniques are as brought forth from the tradition of the northern Himalayas in India.

All levels are welcome. 75 mins

Sattva

Yoga Journey

w/ Yoga Nidra

It's called  a "journey" becaue this experience will take you to places where the possibility of transformation can happen!

Every class is it's own unique journey into breathing techniques, kriya, and kundalini  (as brought forth from the Yog-Vedantic tradition) and can include mantra, postures and guided meditiation.

This integrated approach to yoga also activates dormant and underused parts of the brain, and releases buildup of old/trapped energy from the energy centers creating balance.

Yin Yoga & Pranayama

(breath techniques)

This class experience is a play of movement and stillness.  This class will instill a sense of ease -even when there is effort. Ideas of "easy or difficult" begin to dissolve as we move through postures, allow for the breath to flow, and find dynamic stillness. Yin postures are held for 3-5 minutes to allow access to deeper layers of connective tissue.

This class also incorporates different breathing techniques to allow for greater possibility of depth and awareness.

All levels are welcome.  Good for beginners who want to slow down a "monkey mind" and restless body.
